History
Located at the former entrance site of the Ainahau Estate, once home to Hawaii's beloved Princess Victoria Kaiulani, the Sheraton Princess Kaiulani opened on June 11, 1955 (King Kamehameha Day), at a cost of $4.5 million. It was the largest hotel built in Hawaii since The Royal Hawaiian, a Luxury Collection Resort in 1927 and houses historic photographs of the princess and the royal monarchy throughout the property. Twelve luxury suites were added in 1959. The Diamond Head Wing (now the Kaiulani Wing) opened in September 1960 and the Ainahau Tower was added in 1970.  

Property and Location
A crosswalk away from world-famous Waikiki Beach, the hotel's location offers guests the opportunity to enjoy activates such as surfing, outrigger canoe surfing, snorkeling expeditions, scuba diving and sailing catamaran charters, all which can be arranged through the Tour and Activity Desk. The property's 1,142 rooms with 10 suites offer captivating views of the Pacific Ocean, Diamond Head, the Honolulu city lights and the Ko`olau mountains.  In the heart of Waikiki, the Sheraton Princess Kaiulani is in walking distance from Kapiolani Park, the Honolulu Zoo, Waikiki Aquarium, and the International Marketplace. The hotel is also bordered by world-class shopping, dining and entertainment.  The hotel is nine miles from Honolulu International Airport.
