People's Choice Award Winner: Sheraton Princess Kaiulani's Executive Chef Ralf Bauer 

The Moana Surfider, A Westin Resort & Spa wrapped up a month-long celebration of mangoes with the grand finale event "Tree to Table - A Mango Throw Down". On Friday, August 27 visitors and kama’aina enjoyed delicious mango creations by 17 local celebrity chefs, over 40 wine pairings, and live entertainment by some of Hawaii's top musicians including Henry Kapono, Mailani, Sean Na’auao, Kapena, and Beach 5. The evening's guest celebrity judges include Iron Chef Masaharu Morimoto and Dining Out Editor Jo McGarry and both carefully tasted each dish to determin the categories of Top Overall Winner, Best Use of Mangoes, and Best Dessert. 

Over 400 attendees helped determine the winner chef of the People's Choice Award.

There were four chefs tied for Top Overall Winner including Alan Wong Pineapple Room's chef Lance Kosaka, Twist at Hanohano's chef Ryan Loo, Roy's Restaurant Waikiki's chef Jason Peel, and Hilton Hawaiian Village Bali Steakhouse's chef Brett Villarmia. Best use of Mangoes was taken by Chai's Island Bistro's chef Chai Chaowasaree, Best Dessert goes to Hiroshi's chef Hiroshi Fukui, and Sheraton Princess Kaiulani's chef Ralf Bauer won the People's Choice Award by a unanimous decision.
